About John Fisher, and Let’s Solve For X

I am a retired Air Force, Lieutenant Colonel, who has a passion for teaching, impacting, and mentoring people of all ages.  I now have a new mission; to partner with parents and students to help improve math scores and mentor students.  Concentrated effort in these two areas leads to high levels of success in whatever endeavors they pursue in school, college, graduate school, or career.

Strong tutoring and mentoring leads to an increased confidence, achieving higher test scores, developing a growth mindset, enhancing critical thinking, and sets in motion the tools needed for a young person to achieve his or her fullest potential.

Unfortunately, many students of all ages and academic levels find themselves struggling to understand simple or complex mathematical formulas, equations, etc.   With that in mind, I have resolved to establish a business that will address these mathematical challenges in an affordable, highly effective manner.

My leadership experience in the Air Force will help students form life enriching habits like organization skills, adequate preparation, promptness, and attention to detail to name a few.  I weave these traits into enjoyable yet disciplined one-on-one, class, or virtual (Zoom video conferencing) instructional settings.

Hiring the right tutor/mentor will significntly increase the probability your student will succeed.  Obstacles can be overcome. Challenges can become success stories. Overcoming walls or barriers to learning can be achieved with teaching techniques that yield successful results.

Since retiring from a 21-year military career in 2006, I have logged literally thousands of hours helping hundreds of students just like yours.  I have seen it all and heard every question!  These experiences have helped forge a teaching style with numerous techniques that yield results for students at all academic levels and ages.   

The students I tutor attend a variety of schools including public, private, virtual, and home schooling.  As a tutor and mentor, I am commited to your son/daughter's success in life - not just an "A" on a report card.
